MR Conditional What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What vital signs can the Tesla M3 monitor during MRI scans?

The Tesla M3 MRI Patient Monitoring System continuously tracks ECG, SpO₂, NIBP, IBP, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen, and anesthetic gases such as sevoflurane, desflurane, and nitrous oxide. It’s designed to capture accurate readings even in high-field MRI environments, giving clinicians reliable access to every major vital parameter without disrupting image quality.

2. How does the Tesla M3 perform in 3T MRI environments?

The Tesla M3 is MR Conditional for use up to 3 Tesla, meaning it’s been tested under specific field strengths and configurations to confirm safe operation during active scanning. When positioned and connected as directed, it provides steady data and remains unaffected by magnetic interference. This ensures uninterrupted monitoring across both 1.5 T and 3 T systems, which is ideal for hospitals running mixed MRI suites.

3. What makes the Tesla M3 different from standard MRI monitoring systems?

Unlike basic monitors that handle only one or two vitals, the Tesla M3 is a fully integrated, multi-parameter MRI monitoring platform. It consolidates ECG, respiratory, blood pressure, and gas monitoring in a single unit — reducing equipment clutter and simplifying patient prep. The intuitive interface and quick sensor setup make it a preferred choice for anesthesia support and high-acuity imaging workflows.
