MR Safe What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

This 17-inch Zone IV floor sticker is a critical component for managing MRI environments effectively. Designed to clearly demarcate restricted areas within facilities housing MRI equipment and associated accessories, this sticker enhances safety and compliance. Its high-visibility labeling makes restricted access zones immediately recognizable, ensuring adherence to protocols and reducing potential hazards. Constructed with pressure-sensitive vinyl and laminated with a 4-mil anti-skid tread, the sticker provides robust durability and reliable performance in high-traffic areas, maintaining its clarity over extended use.

Engineered specifically for smooth surfaces, the aggressive adhesive ensures the sticker stays firmly in place, making it an ideal choice for long-term floor marking solutions in MRI facilities. By clearly designating Zone IV, where the magnetic field is present, this product supports healthcare facilities in reducing risks and maintaining industry standards. Whether for highlighting critical areas or optimizing the management of MRI products, this durable floor sticker is a practical and effective solution for maintaining operational efficiency and safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where should a Zone IV floor sticker be installed in an MRI suite?

Most facilities place the Zone IV sticker right at the entry into the magnet room, marking the point where the magnetic field is present at all times. It works as a bold, floor-level reminder that only screened and authorized individuals can enter. When paired with your wall signage and access-control systems, it helps prevent accidental entry and reinforces MRI safety protocols in a very visible way.

2. Is the Zone IV floor sticker durable enough for heavy foot traffic and MRI equipment movement?

Yes. The sticker is built for continuous traffic in clinical areas, using pressure-sensitive vinyl and a 4-mil anti-skid laminate that resists wear. It holds up well under wheelchairs, transport equipment, gurneys, and routine cleaning. The adhesive is aggressive enough to stay put on smooth floors without curling or peeling, which keeps the warning visible and reliable long-term.

3. Does the anti-skid surface help reduce slip risks near the magnet room entrance?

It does. The sticker’s laminated tread gives extra traction in areas where condensation, cleaning solutions, or patient prep workflows can create slick spots. Because the material doesn’t lift at the edges, it avoids the tripping and slipping hazards that happen with lower-grade floor markers. It’s a practical safety upgrade for MRI suites that want clear boundaries and safer flooring around high-risk zones.
