MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can this double end box wrench be used directly inside an MRI room?

Yes. It’s made entirely from non-magnetic titanium, so you can use it around MRI systems without worrying about magnetic attraction or image distortion. It’s a dependable option for tightening or loosening smaller metric fasteners on coils, covers, brackets, and accessory mounts inside the magnet room.

2. What makes a double end box wrench useful for MRI equipment maintenance?

A metric double-ended box wrench gives you two precise box-end sizes in one tool, which is handy when you’re switching between small fasteners during service work. The closed-end design also gives better grip and prevents rounding—especially useful when working on coil frames, patient table hardware, or inline mechanical components where slippage isn’t an option.

3. How well does the titanium construction handle hospital cleaning and frequent use?

Titanium is naturally corrosion-resistant, lightweight, and hypoallergenic, so it holds up well to repeated disinfectant wipes and daily use. It won’t rust, flake, or weaken, making it ideal for facilities that need tools that can live permanently in MRI zones without degrading over time.
