MR Conditional What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the MRI safety status of the Leg Rest, Large, Open Cell Foam?

This Leg Rest is built from non-metallic, non-conductive materials designed for use inside the MRI suite without affecting image quality. It can be safely used in MRI Zones III and IV, including during active scanning. Always check your facility’s safety documentation or product labeling to confirm whether your specific model is MR Conditional and approved for your scanner’s field strength (typically 1.5 T or 3 T).

2. What makes this leg rest different from standard positioning pads?

The open-cell foam design provides breathable support that helps reduce heat buildup and pressure points during longer scans or recovery. Its curved shape keeps legs elevated and stable, improving both patient comfort and image consistency in MRI, CT, and ultrasound procedures.

3. What are the dimensions and ideal applications?

This large model measures 10″ × 24″ × 18″, making it well-suited for adult patients or extended studies that require leg elevation and alignment. It’s used widely in MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound to promote comfort, reduce motion, and aid in consistent positioning.

4. What should I know about shipping, returns, and warehouse sale items?

Warehouse sale items like this leg rest are new, open-box products offered at a discount. Most orders ship within 48 hours (Mon–Fri, PST) via UPS or FedEx. Returns are accepted within 30 days of shipment for unused items in original condition, pending approval and a standard restocking fee.
