MR Conditional What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can this doctor’s chair be used in the MRI room near the magnet during procedures?

Yes. The chair is MR-Conditional up to 3T, built with non-magnetic stainless steel and MRI-appropriate components. That makes it safe for use in Zones III–IV when positioned according to the stated conditions, giving clinicians a stable, comfortable seat close to the scanner without worrying about magnetic attraction or torque.

2. Is the 17–23" height range practical for common MRI tasks like patient prep or seated scanning support?

The adjustable height works well for technologists and physicians who move between scanner-side work and workstation tasks. The 17–23" range covers most seated working positions in MRI suites, and the padded arms and backrest help reduce fatigue during long cases or repetitive positioning tasks.

3. How stable and easy to maneuver is this chair on typical MRI-suite flooring?

The five-leg base keeps the chair steady when clinicians shift their weight, and the 2" non-magnetic casters roll smoothly without scuffing floors. Staff often choose this model when they need reliable mobility in tight MRI bays while still maintaining the stability needed for patient-facing tasks.
