MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MRI Conditional 4 E/D Cylinder Cart safe to use inside the MRI suite?

Yes. This cart is MR Conditional up to 3 Tesla, meeting ASTM F2503 labeling and testing requirements for MRI use. It’s made entirely from non-ferromagnetic aluminum, so it can be safely used in MRI Zones II–IV when operated under the specified field conditions. The design prevents magnetic attraction, image interference, or safety hazards near the magnet bore.

How many oxygen cylinders does this MRI cart hold, and what sizes fit?

The cart securely holds up to four D or E size oxygen cylinders, the most common cylinder sizes used in hospital and imaging environments. This makes it ideal for departments that need multiple cylinders available at once — such as busy MRI suites, emergency prep areas, or patient recovery zones.

What makes this 4-cylinder MRI cart practical for daily hospital use?

It’s engineered for efficiency and safety in high-volume settings. The tilting dolly-style frame allows smooth loading and unloading with minimal strain, while 6-inch rubber-tread wheels glide easily across hospital floors. The white powder-coated aluminum frame resists corrosion and cleans quickly with hospital disinfectants, making it reliable for continuous clinical use.

Can this MRI cylinder cart stay in the scan room during imaging?

Yes — it can remain in the MRI room during scanning, as long as it’s used within its MR Conditional 3T rating. Its all-aluminum construction eliminates magnetic pull and minimizes the risk of interference. Always verify that the cylinders and any attached components, like regulators or flowmeters, are also MR Conditional before bringing the system into Zone IV.

How is this MRI cylinder cart shipped, and what are the return guidelines?

Most MRI Med products ship within 48 business hours for stocked models. The 4-cylinder cart arrives fully assembled and ready to use. Returns are accepted for unused items with prior approval, and any damage or shortages must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. Because these are MR Conditional medical products, all returns are inspected for compliance before credit is issued.
