MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Narrow Seven Drawer Anesthesia Cart MR Conditional and safe for MRI use?

Yes. This anesthesia cart is MR Conditional, tested and certified by an independent authority for use in MRI environments up to 3 Tesla. It fully meets the ASTM F2503 standard for MR Conditional labeling. The cart’s low-ferrous construction minimizes magnetic attraction and torque, allowing safe operation within MRI Zones III and IVwhen used under the specified conditions.

What’s included in the Specialty Package, and how does it improve MRI workflow?

The Specialty Package comes equipped with:

  • an aluminum 2-tier raised back rail system for accessory mounting,
  • four aluminum side rails for bins and organizers, and
  • two plastic full-drawer tray organizers for sorting anesthesia supplies.

These added components make the cart more efficient and customizable for MRI anesthesia setups, keeping tools and medications organized and within reach during procedures.

What design features make this anesthesia cart MRI-ready?

This model uses low-ferrous steel and aluminum, paired with 5-inch sealed ball-bearing casters for smooth mobility near MRI scanners. The heat-sealed powder-coat finish resists scratches and disinfectant wear, while the antimicrobial removable top supports infection control. A BEST® brand key lock adds security for controlled substances, and protective corner bumpers guard against dings in tight MRI suite spaces.

What are the size and drawer configuration specifications?

This narrow anesthesia cart measures 46 in H × 21.5 in W × 23.75 in D and weighs 92 lbs. Drawer layout:

  • (1) 4-inch drawer
  • (4) 3.25-inch drawers
  • (1) 6.5-inch drawer
  • (1) 9.75-inch drawer

Each drawer has 13.75 in W × 17 in D of usable space and full-extension slides for easy access. The compact frame makes it ideal for smaller MRI rooms where every inch of space matters.

What warranty, shipping, and assembly details should buyers know?

The cart includes a 12-year limited manufacturer’s warranty on the cabinet and a 1-year warranty on bought-out parts. It ships fully assembled with pre-threaded holes for accessories—ready to use out of the box. Most stocked models ship within 48 business hours (Mon–Fri, PST) by UPS, FedEx, or freight. Returns are accepted within 30 days of shipment when approved and in original condition per MRI Med’s policy.
