MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Narrow Seven Drawer Anesthesia Cart MR Conditional and tested for MRI use?

Yes. This anesthesia cart is MR Conditional, independently tested and certified for use in MRI environments up to 3 Tesla, meeting ASTM F2503 standards. It’s built with low-ferrous components that limit magnetic attraction and interference, allowing safe use within MRI Zones III and IV when operated under the stated conditions.

What makes this MRI anesthesia cart a good fit for small or space-limited MRI suites?

The cart’s narrow 21.5-inch width makes it easy to maneuver in tight MRI control or procedure rooms without sacrificing storage capacity. It includes seven drawers for efficient organization of anesthesia supplies, while sealed ball-bearing casters ensure smooth, stable movement even in confined areas. It’s an ideal choice for facilities that need full-function anesthesia storage in compact MRI spaces.

What materials and design features make this anesthesia cart MRI-ready?

The cart is constructed from low-ferrous steel and aluminum with a durable, heat-sealed powder-coat finish. It uses 5-inch sealed low-ferrous casters (two swivel, two with brake, one directional) and full-extension ball-bearing drawer slides. Other thoughtful details—like the BEST® brand key lock, protective corner bumpers, and antimicrobial removable top—add safety, hygiene, and longevity for high-use MRI environments.

What are the size and drawer layout specifications?

The cart measures 46″ H × 21.5″ W × 23.75″ D and weighs 92 lbs. It includes seven drawers in the following configuration:

  • (1) 4″ drawer
  • (4) 3.25″ drawers
  • (1) 6.5″ drawer
  • (1) 9.75″ drawer

Each drawer has 13.75″ W × 17″ D of internal space and full-extension slides for easy access during anesthesia setup and procedures.

What warranty, shipping, and setup details should I know before ordering?

This cart is covered by a 12-year limited manufacturer’s warranty (and 1 year on any bought-out parts). It ships fully assembled with pre-threaded accessory mounting holes and includes:

  • An aluminum 2-tier raised back rail system
  • Four side rails
  • Two full drawer tray organizers

Most stocked models ship within 48 business hours (Mon–Fri, PST) via UPS, FedEx, or freight. Returns are accepted within 30 days when approved and in original condition per MRI Med’s standard policy.
