MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Narrow Six Drawer Anesthesia Cart MR Conditional for use in MRI environments?

Yes. This anesthesia cart is MR Conditional, tested and certified by an independent authority for use in MRI environments up to 3 Tesla, in accordance with ASTM F2503. It’s designed with low-ferrous materials, including non-magnetic casters, drawer slides, and fasteners, to reduce magnetic attraction and ensure safe operation in MRI Zones III and IV.

What makes this anesthesia cart safe and practical for MRI use?

Every component of the cart is engineered for MRI environments. It features low-ferrous, sealed ball-bearing casters, full-extension drawer slides, and a powder-coated steel cabinet that maintains durability without introducing magnetic hazards. The BEST® brand key lock keeps supplies secure, while the antimicrobial removable top helps maintain infection control. Its compact footprint also makes it a good fit for MRI rooms where space is tight.

What are the cart’s dimensions and storage layout?

The Narrow Six Drawer Anesthesia Cart measures 46 inches high × 21.5 inches wide × 23.75 inches deep and weighs 137 lbs. It includes six drawers in various sizes for organized anesthesia supply storage:

    • (1) 4-inch drawer
    • (2) 3.25-inch drawers
    • (2) 6.5-inch drawers
    • (1) 9.75-inch drawer
All drawers use ball-bearing slides for smooth operation and easy access during procedures.

Does this MR-Conditional anesthesia cart require assembly or special installation?

No. The cart arrives fully assembled and ready for use. Accessory mounting holes are pre-threaded, making it simple to add optional attachments like side rails, IV poles, or tilt bins as needed. Because it’s shipped complete, facilities can deploy it quickly without setup delays.

What is the warranty and lead time for this anesthesia cart?

The cart includes a 12-year limited manufacturer’s warranty on the main structure and a 1-year warranty on any bought-out parts. Most stocked models ship within 48 business hours (Mon–Fri, PST).
