MR Conditional What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

The MR Conditional PVC Privacy Screen with Casters is an essential addition to medical environments requiring compatibility with MRI equipment. Each of its three panels measures 21” x 51” for exceptional coverage, with a total expanded width of 67” to ensure optimal privacy. When not in use, the screen folds down to a compact 24” W x 5” D, making storage hassle-free. Designed with a ground clearance of 13”, it allows for easy cleaning and accessible maintenance. The removable Velcro panels are simple to detach, enabling quick reconfiguration or cleaning as needed. Made from mildew-resistant PVC, the privacy screen is durable and easy to maintain, as it can be effortlessly wiped clean with a damp cloth, meeting hygiene requirements in medical and clinical settings.

Certified as MR-conditional up to 3-Tesla and fitted with non-magnetic 2” casters, this screen is fully compatible with a variety of MRI products and sensitive machinery in healthcare environments. Its lightweight yet robust construction ensures reliable performance while allowing effortless repositioning, making it a practical and flexible solution. Whether utilized in hospitals, imaging centers, or diagnostic facilities, this privacy screen combines functionality, durability, and precision-focused design to meet the unique demands of modern medical care.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is this PVC privacy screen safe to use inside an MRI room?

Yes. The screen is MR Conditional up to 3-Tesla, making it appropriate for MRI Zones III and IV when used as intended. Its PVC frame and non-magnetic 2" casters minimize magnetic interaction, so the screen can be positioned near the magnet without creating pull-force or safety issues.

2. How easy is this MRI privacy screen to clean and maintain?

Very easy. The PVC panels are mildew-resistant and can be wiped down with routine disinfectants, which helps you stay aligned with infection-control protocols. The Velcro-attached panels can be removed quickly for deeper cleaning or replacement, which is especially helpful in high-turnover MRI suites.

3. Does the folding design make a difference in tight MRI spaces?

It does. Fully opened, the three panels provide 67 inches of patient privacy, but when folded, the screen collapses to 24" × 5", making it simple to store between scans. The 13" ground clearance also makes it easy for housekeeping to clean underneath without dragging or moving the frame.
