MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Seven Drawer Anesthesia Cart MR Conditional for use in MRI suites?

Yes. This cart is MR Conditional, designed and tested to meet ASTM F2503 standards for MR Conditional labeling. It is built for use near MRI systems operating up to 3 Tesla, minimizing magnetic attraction, torque, and RF interference. The low-ferrous construction allows safe use in MRI Zones III and IV when operated under the stated conditions.

What makes this MR Conditional anesthesia cart suitable for MRI environments?

Every component is engineered for MRI safety and reliability. The cart features low-ferrous steel and aluminum construction, 5-inch sealed ball-bearing casters, and full-extension drawer slides that perform smoothly near strong magnetic fields. The heat-sealed powder-coat finish resists cleaning agents, while the antimicrobial removable top and protective corner bumpers support both hygiene and durability in busy MRI anesthesia settings.

How is the Seven Drawer Anesthesia Cart configured and sized?

    The cart measures 46 in H × 31.8 in W × 23.75 in D and weighs 137 lbs. Drawer configuration:

    • (1) 4-inch drawer
    • (4) 3.25-inch drawers
    • (1) 6.5-inch drawer
    • (1) 9.75-inch drawer
Each drawer opens fully for easy access to anesthesia tools and medications, keeping supplies organized and within reach during MRI procedures.

Does the anesthesia cart include a lock and other security features?

Yes. It includes a BEST® brand key lock with two keys for secure storage of controlled substances and high-value equipment. The cart’s sturdy frame, smooth-rolling casters, and pull-out shelf support quick, controlled movement and stability in MRI environments—important for maintaining workflow and safety during anesthesia setup.

What warranty, shipping, and assembly details should I know before ordering?

The cart is covered by a 12-year limited manufacturer’s warranty on the cabinet and a 1-year warranty on bought-out parts. It arrives fully assembled with pre-threaded accessory mounting holes and is made in the USA. Most stocked models ship within 48 business hours (Mon–Fri, PST) via UPS, FedEx, or freight.
