MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the nVision Software improve oxygen saturation monitoring in MRI?

The nVision Software gives teams real-time visibility into SpO₂ and pulse rate data during MRI scans, helping identify patient changes immediately. Its processing filters are designed to perform accurately in the MRI’s electromagnetic environment, so readings stay consistent even under strong gradient and RF conditions. That reliability supports both patient safety and confident imaging workflow.

2. Can the MR Pulse Oximeter nVision Software integrate with existing MRI monitoring systems?

Yes. The software is built for seamless integration with MR Conditional monitoring equipment, allowing facilities to connect it to compatible oximeters and displays already in use. It supports flexible setup options and multiple report formats, which means teams can analyze and export patient data directly into their established documentation workflow without added steps.

3. What advantages does nVision Software offer for post-scan analysis?

The software’s data management tools let staff review, edit, and organize monitoring results quickly after each scan. It includes preset report categories and customizable data views, which makes it easy to compare trends or share results across departments. Many facilities use it to streamline quality checks and improve documentation accuracy for compliance and patient follow-up.
