MR Safe What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can this chair be safely used inside MRI suites?

Yes. The chair is made without metal components, making it fully MR Safe for use around MRI systems. Facilities commonly use chairs like this in scan rooms, patient intake areas, and MRI control spaces where standard furniture may not be appropriate.

2. Does the chair hold up well in high-traffic healthcare settings?

It does. The commercial-grade resin construction is designed for repeated daily use in demanding clinical environments. Its heavy-duty design supports up to 400 lbs while resisting wear from constant cleaning and movement.

3. Why do imaging facilities choose resin MRI chairs instead of standard seating?

Resin MRI chairs provide a combination of safety, durability, and low maintenance. Unlike traditional metal-framed seating, they eliminate magnetic concerns while still offering comfortable seating for patients, visitors, and staff.
