MR Safe What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Consistent Protection. Effortless Workflow. Enhanced Patient Comfort.

MRI technologists and radiographers often face challenges positioning padding materials once a patient is inside the bore of the MR system. Maintaining the required 1 cm distance from the transmit RF body coil can be difficult—particularly in small-bore systems (e.g., 60 cm diameter)—leaving patients at risk of RF-induced burns.

The MR Safety Angel Pad provides a reliable, standardized solution. Designed to wrap securely around the patient, it helps maintain safe spacing from the RF body coil while improving overall comfort. Once installed, the pad can remain on the patient table for continuous use, eliminating the need for makeshift padding or manual adjustments during scans.

By preventing RF-induced burns and streamlining patient setup, the MR Safety Angel Pad enhances both safety and workflow efficiency. It’s compatible with all common whole-body MR systems (60 cm and 70 cm bores) and even offers added cushioning for patient elbows—small details that make a big difference.

Features:

  •  Extra smooth black underside to easily slide into the MR system's bore
  • Six "anti-glide" patches to stay in place when transferring patients
  • Velcro patches to adjust the width to any MRI table
  • 120 cm (47’’) long 1 cm (0.39’’) thick insulation material
  • Strong PU Foil to withstand wear & tear and disinfectants even with 90% alcohol
  • Foldable wings for compact storage
