MR Safe What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can this cobweb brush be safely used in MRI environments?

Yes. The MRI Cobweb Brush is designed specifically for use in MRI environments, made entirely of non-magnetic materials that will not interfere with MRI systems. It’s safe for use inside or near the magnet room, including Zones III and IV, making it ideal for routine maintenance around imaging equipment.

2. What makes this brush effective for cleaning in MRI suites?

The brush features split-tipped soft poly fibers that attract dust and debris without scratching sensitive surfaces. Its electrostatic fibers naturally pull in cobwebs, dirt, and fine particles — a key benefit in MRI environments where airborne dust can impact cleanliness and image quality.

3. Is the brush compatible with MRI-approved extension poles?

Yes. The brush is designed to attach securely to the JS-165P MRI Telescopic 2-Section Pole, allowing staff to reach high ceilings, corners, and vents safely. Both the brush and the pole are built from non-magnetic materials for use throughout MRI suites.

4. How should the MRI Cobweb Brush be cleaned and maintained?

After use, the brush can be rinsed with mild detergent and warm water to remove dust buildup. Allow it to air dry completely before reuse. The non-metallic fibers are durable and resist shedding, so the brush can be reused multiple times without degrading performance.

5. Where can this brush be used within a facility?

The MRI Cobweb Brush is ideal for MRI rooms, control areas, and adjoining hallways where maintaining a dust-free environment supports imaging accuracy and patient comfort. It’s also suitable for use in other non-ferromagnetic areas of healthcare facilities that require precision cleaning tools.
