MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MRI Conditional E Cylinder Cart safe for use in MRI environments?

Yes. This cart is MR Conditional up to 3 Tesla and tested to meet ASTM F2503 standards. It’s built from non-ferromagnetic aluminum, so it won’t be attracted to the magnet or cause interference during scanning. The cart is designed specifically for MRI Zones II–IV and can be used inside the scan room under normal MRI operating conditions.

What cylinder sizes does this MRI cart support?

The MRI Med E Cylinder Cart securely holds D or E size medical gas cylinders, which are commonly used for oxygen and anesthesia delivery in MRI suites and hospitals. The frame is built to keep cylinders stable in motion or at rest, reducing the risk of rolling or accidental release during transport.

What features make this MRI E Cylinder Cart practical for imaging departments?

It’s designed for safety, ergonomics, and convenience. The rear bed hook fits standard IV pole mounts, letting staff hang the cart from a bed or gurney for easy patient transport. A utility hook provides space to hang cannulas or masks, keeping equipment organized. The 6-inch rubber-tread wheels roll smoothly across hospital flooring, and the white powder-coat finish resists corrosion and cleans easily with hospital-grade disinfectants.

Can this MRI cylinder cart stay in the MRI room during a scan?

Yes. As long as it’s used under its labeled MR Conditional 3 T rating, it can safely remain inside the MRI room. Facilities often keep one nearby for emergency oxygen or patient transport. Always confirm that any accessories attached to the cylinder, like regulators or flow meters, are also MR Conditional before bringing them into the room.

How does MRI Med handle shipping, customization, and returns for this MRI cart?

Most stocked MRI Med products ship within 48 business hours, and this cart arrives ready for use. Custom color finishes can be requested for facility coordination. Because it’s a medical-grade MR Conditional product, returns must be pre-approved and are accepted only for unused items within 30 days of shipment. Any freight damage or shortages should be reported within 48 hours for prompt resolution.
