MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MRI Conditional E Cylinder Wall Mount safe to install inside the MRI room?

Yes. This wall mount is MR Conditional up to 3 Tesla, tested and labeled in accordance with ASTM F2503. It’s built from non-ferromagnetic aluminum, so it can safely be installed and used in MRI Zones II–IV when mounted per standard facility procedures. The mount won’t create magnetic attraction or interfere with image quality when used under specified MR Conditional conditions.

What size oxygen cylinder does this MRI wall mount hold?

The MRI Med E Cylinder Wall Mount is designed for one E-size gas cylinder, the most common size used in MRI and hospital settings. The adjustable tightening knob keeps the cylinder securely in place, preventing movement or tipping — ideal for safe, accessible storage inside MRI rooms or adjacent prep areas.

Why choose a wall-mounted rack over a floor rack or cart in an MRI suite?

Wall-mounted cylinder storage helps save floor space and improve safety. In tight MRI control rooms or patient prep zones, keeping cylinders off the floor reduces tripping hazards and simplifies cleaning. This mount’s compact aluminum frame provides stable, long-term cylinder support while maintaining compliance with MRI safety standards.

Can this MR Conditional wall mount remain in the room during active scanning?

Yes. It can remain installed in the MRI room during scans when used within its 3 T MR Conditional rating. Its non-magnetic materials eliminate projectile risk and won’t distort the magnetic field. Always verify that any attached cylinders, valves, or regulators are also MR Conditional before placing them in the magnet room.

How is the MRI Conditional E Cylinder Wall Mount shipped, and what’s the return policy?

MRI Med typically ships stocked items within 48 business hours (Monday – Friday, PST). The wall mount arrives ready for quick installation on any flat surface. Returns are accepted for unused products with prior approval within 30 days of shipment. Any damage or shortages should be reported within 48 hours of delivery to MRI Med and the carrier for resolution.
