MR Conditional What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can these equipment stands stay in the MRI room during scanning?

Yes. The MRI Conditional Equipment Stand Series is tested and labeled MR Conditional up to 3.0 Tesla, meaning it’s safe for use inside the magnet room under specified conditions. The non-magnetic materials and stable 5-star base minimize movement or magnetic attraction, even near the bore. That makes them ideal for holding oxygen cylinders, accessories, or monitoring tools right where they’re needed during scans.

2. What makes these MRI equipment stands more durable than standard hospital stands?

Each stand is built with a welded steel frame and a heavy-duty dual E/D cylinder holder, designed to handle daily clinical use in high-traffic MRI suites. The white powder-coated finish resists scratches and cleaning agents, while 3-inch jumbo casters glide smoothly over floors without marking. Together, these details make the series both rugged and easy to maintain — a combination that matters in a 24/7 imaging environment.

3. Are there customization options for different MRI setups or workflows?

Yes. Facilities can choose from different tray sizes and configurations to match their equipment needs — whether that’s ventilator support, patient monitoring accessories, or oxygen management. MRI Med can also customize basket layouts or pole attachments for unique suite designs. The modular design keeps everything organized and mobile, reducing setup time between scans.
