MR Conditional What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MRI PVC 2-Shelf Linen Cart MR Conditional for use in MRI suites?

Yes. This linen cart is MR Conditional and tested for use in MRI environments up to 3 Tesla, following ASTM F2503 labeling standards. It’s built from non-ferromagnetic PVC materials and MRI-appropriate components, ensuring it can safely be used within MRI Zones II–IV when operated under the stated MR Conditional conditions.

What makes this MRI linen cart a good choice for imaging centers and hospitals?

The MRI PVC 2-Shelf Linen Cart is built for efficiency, safety, and durability in MRI environments. With two spacious flat shelves (each supporting up to 100 lbs), Velcro closures, and an ergonomic push-pull handle, it’s designed to make transporting linens or lightweight MRI supplies smooth and secure. The optional mesh or vinyl cover keeps stored items clean and organized, helping facilities maintain infection control standards while streamlining workflow.

What materials are used, and how do they perform in MRI environments?

This model is made from medical-grade PVC and other non-ferromagnetic materials that won’t interfere with MRI magnetic fields. The mesh cover provides airflow and visibility, while the vinyl option offers a moisture-resistant, easy-to-clean surface — ideal for high-traffic clinical areas. Both options pair with 3” twin-brake casters for stable, smooth rolling that’s safe near MRI systems.

What are the cart’s size, capacity, and assembly details?

The MRI PVC 2-Shelf Linen Cart measures 40.5” long (with handles) × 20” wide × 37” high (with casters), with 12” between shelves. Each shelf measures 20” × 32” and supports up to 100 lbs, for a total evenly distributed capacity of 200 lbs. Light assembly is required, but setup is quick and straightforward. Once built, the cart moves smoothly and locks securely in place using the twin-brake casters.

Can I customize the linen cart, and what should I know about shipping or returns?

Yes. This MRI linen cart can be customized with your choice of cover material (mesh or vinyl) and color options to match your facility’s standards. Each cart is made to order in the USA and typically ships via UPS, FedEx, or freight, depending on order size. Because it’s a custom-built product, it’s non-returnable, except in cases of verified manufacturer defects, which MRI Med will promptly resolve to ensure quality and compliance.
