MR Safe What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Ensure optimal safety and regulatory compliance in your MRI facility with the MRI Zone Sign Combo Pack. This essential kit is designed to clearly designate all MRI zones, reducing potential risks in clinical and diagnostic environments. Each sign is crafted from high-durability rigid plastic, ensuring long-lasting performance in high-traffic areas, both indoors and outdoors. With its peel-and-stick adhesive backing, the signage offers an easy and secure mounting solution, providing critical visual cues to manage access and maintain operational efficiency. Ideal for facilities using advanced MRI equipment and related diagnostic solutions, these signs play a pivotal role in demarcating restricted and unrestricted areas effectively.

The MRI Zone Sign Combo Pack includes signage for MRI Zones I–IV, offering comprehensive coverage for complete area designation. Built to withstand environmental stress, the signs resist fading, cracking, or degradation over time, making them a reliable choice for maintaining safety and organization. Whether upgrading current safety measures or outfitting a new facility, these signs cater to the stringent demands of modern MRI environments, supporting compliance and ensuring a secure workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the MRI Zone Sign Combo Pack help us stay compliant with MRI zone requirements?

Facilities use this combo pack to label every transition point from Zone I through Zone IV with clear, standardized signage. The uniform 8" × 10" format helps technologists, transport staff, and visitors know exactly where they are in the MRI suite, which reduces wrong-entry mistakes and supports ACR 4-zone workflow. It’s an easy way to upgrade older or inconsistent signage so your zone layout stays organized and compliant.

2. Are these MRI zone signs durable enough for high-traffic hallways and frequent cleaning?

Yes. The rigid plastic holds up well in corridors, prep areas, and entry points that see constant movement and regular disinfecting. The material resists fading, cracking, and warping, even under strong cleaners used in MRI environments. Facilities like that the signs stay bright and readable long-term, which helps maintain reliable access control without constant replacements.

3. What’s the installation process like, and will the signs stay mounted over time?

The peel-and-stick backing makes installation quick—most teams mount the full zone set in a few minutes without tools or hardware. Once applied, the adhesive bonds securely to doors, walls, and plastic surfaces and doesn’t loosen in warm rooms or high-humidity areas. It’s an easy way to standardize MRI zone signage without needing facilities support.
