MR Unsafe What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this table be used in an MRI scanner room?

No. This Clinton imaging table is labeled MR Unsafe and must not be brought into an MRI scanner room. We carry equipment for several imaging applications, so a product’s availability through MRI Med does not mean it is suitable for MRI use. If your facility needs a table for an MRI environment, contact us before ordering so we can help you select equipment with the appropriate MR safety classification.

How do I decide if the drop window will work for our exams?

Consider the area your sonographers need to reach and the patient positions used during your exams. The opening needs to provide access at the required location without interfering with patient support or transducer movement. If you are purchasing for a specific examination protocol, contact us to confirm the window’s placement and configuration before ordering.

What should we check before placing this table in our exam room?

Plan for working space around the table as well as the space it occupies. Your staff will need room for patient transfers, access to the stirrups and footrest, and positioning of the ultrasound system. Check the delivery route, doorways, and electrical requirements before purchase, and confirm the table’s length and width with us if room clearance is tight.

Can the locking casters be used to transport patients between rooms?

The casters allow the table to be repositioned, but they should not be treated as confirmation that it is approved for occupied patient transport. Follow Clinton’s operating instructions for movement and caster use, and confirm the intended application before moving the table with a patient on it. If transport between departments is part of your workflow, let us know so we can help you evaluate suitable equipment.

How should we choose a disinfectant for cleaning this table?

Use Clinton’s cleaning instructions for the upholstery, frame, and controls before introducing a disinfectant into your routine. A cleaner used on other equipment may not be compatible with this table’s surfaces, and a disposable paper covering does not replace cleaning between patients. If your facility requires a particular disinfectant, contact us before ordering to request confirmation of compatibility.
