MR Safe What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the MRI safety status of the Rectangle Positioning Pad?

The Rectangle Positioning Pad is made from non-metallic, non-conductive materials suitable for use inside the MRI suite. It can safely be used in MRI Zones III and IV, including during active scans. Always check your facility’s documentation or product labeling to confirm whether your specific pad is MR Conditional and approved for use at your scanner’s field strengths (commonly 1.5 T or 3 T).

2. How is this positioning pad used in MRI and other imaging procedures?

This multi-purpose pad supports patients during MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine procedures. It helps reduce pressure points, stabilize limbs or body parts, and improve alignment for clearer images. Its versatility makes it ideal for general positioning across multiple imaging systems.

3. What materials are used, and how should the pad be cleaned?

Each pad is built from durable, high-density foam with a sealed medical-grade surface that’s easy to disinfect. It’s compatible with standard hospital-grade cleaners and disinfectants such as quaternary ammonium or alcohol-based wipes. Avoid bleach or harsh solvents to maintain surface integrity.

4. What are the shipping and return details for this product?

Most stocked pads ship within 48 hours (Monday–Friday, PST) via UPS or FedEx. Returns are accepted within 30 days of shipment for unused items in their original condition, pending approval and standard restocking fees. Report any shipping damage within 48 hours for prompt assistance.
