MR Conditional What does this mean?

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can the Tesla Duo NIBP Monitor be used inside the MRI room during active scanning?

Yes. The system is MR Conditional up to 3 Tesla when installed and operated according to manufacturer guidelines. It’s designed specifically for the MRI environment, so it can remain in the magnet room while scans are in progress. The monitor’s non-magnetic components and specialized cabling minimize image distortion and ensure accurate blood-pressure readings throughout the procedure.

2. How does the Tesla Duo perform in different MRI applications, like sedation or cardiac imaging?

The Tesla Duo NIBP Monitor provides stable, repeatable blood-pressure measurements even in demanding use cases. Facilities rely on it for routine, pediatric, and anesthesia-supported exams where patient stability must be tracked continuously. Its quick-response inflation cycle and easy-to-read display make it a dependable choice when time and clarity matter most.

3. What makes this NIBP monitor a good long-term investment for MRI departments?

It’s built for reliability, integration, and low maintenance. The Tesla Duo’s MRI-specific design prevents electromagnetic interference, helping preserve image quality while extending device life. It connects easily with existing MRI monitoring setups and uses durable, replaceable accessories—so departments can standardize on one platform and reduce downtime or costly service calls over time.
