MR Conditional What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the Tesla Duo handle patient monitoring during longer MRI procedures?

The Tesla Duo is designed for continuous monitoring in extended or sedation cases, where stable readings are critical. Its wireless SpO₂ sensor maintains consistent signal quality even during long scans, and the system’s display remains clear and responsive throughout. Facilities use it to track vitals without interruptions or data dropouts, which helps ensure patient safety during complex imaging sequences.

2. Can the monitor and trolley setup move easily between MRI rooms?

Yes. The trolley was designed with inter-suite mobility in mind — lightweight, sturdy, and easy to maneuver through standard MRI doorways and control-room passages. Many centers use one system across multiple magnets to maximize efficiency. The remote makes it simple to control or adjust settings from the console area without having to reposition the unit during use.

3. What’s the advantage of having both SpO₂ and NIBP monitoring in one MRI system?

Combining these functions in one device means fewer cables, faster setup, and better workflow efficiency. Techs can monitor oxygen saturation and blood pressure simultaneously from a single interface, reducing equipment clutter and the need for multiple systems in tight MRI spaces. It also simplifies training and maintenance since all vital readings are managed through one familiar platform.
