MR Unsafe What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the US-298 different from the US-299?

The US-298 provides drop-window access without the integrated stirrups listed on the US-299. If your department needs both an imaging opening and stirrups for examination positioning, compare it with our multi-use imaging table with stirrups and a drop window. Base your choice on the procedures performed in that room so the table supports your full exam schedule.

Does “power imaging table” mean all adjustments are electric?

No. Power operation covers height adjustment and Trendelenburg positioning, while the backrest is pneumatically assisted and the footrest is adjusted manually. Staff should account for these separate controls when planning patient positioning. If your department requires powered backrest or leg-section movement, confirm those requirements with us before selecting this model.

Will the drop window provide access for our ultrasound exams?

That depends on the scanning approach and the patient’s position on the table. The opening’s size alone does not establish that it will align with the area your sonographer needs to reach. Review the window location, scanning side, and required transducer movement before ordering, particularly if you are purchasing for a specific cardiac or other ultrasound protocol.

Is this table suitable for use inside an MRI scanner room?

No. The US-298 is labeled MR Unsafe and must not be brought into an MRI scanner room. “Imaging table” describes its application and does not indicate MRI compatibility. We supply equipment for several imaging settings, so check the product’s MR classification separately from its name or appearance.

Can we use our existing positioning cushions with this table?

Check each cushion’s dimensions, intended use, and placement against the table sections and drop window. A cushion that bridges the opening or interferes with an adjustable section could obstruct access or affect patient support. Follow the table and cushion manufacturers’ instructions, and contact us if you need help reviewing a particular combination before purchasing.
