MR Unsafe What does this mean?
MR Safe

MR Safe – an item that poses no known hazards in all MRI environments. Using the terminology, “MR Safe” items are non-conducting, non-metallic, and non-magnetic items such as a plastic Petri dish. An item may be determined to be MR Safe by providing a scientifically based rationale rather than test data.

MR Conditional

MR Conditional – an item that has been demonstrated to pose no known hazards in a specified MR environment with specified conditions of use. “Field” conditions that define the MR environment include static magnetic field strength, spatial gradient magnetic field, dB/dt (time rate of change of the magnetic field), radio frequency (RF) fields, and specific absorption rate (SAR). Additional conditions, including specific configurations of the item (e.g., the routing of leads used for a neurostimulation system), may be required.

MR Unsafe

MR Unsafe – An item that is known to pose hazards in all MRI environments. MR Unsafe items include magnetic items such as a pair of ferromagnetic scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose between the US-295 and a table with a drop window?

The choice depends on the access your sonographers need during exams. The US-295 has a continuous upholstered surface without a drop window. If your protocols require transducer access through an opening in the tabletop, consider our imaging table with stirrups and a drop window. Compare that access requirement with your routine patient positions before selecting a model.

Does this table connect to our ultrasound system?

The US-295 functions as a separate patient examination table, with its own positioning controls. No connection to an ultrasound console is listed as part of its operation. For room planning, focus on placing your system close enough for comfortable transducer access while leaving space for the sonographer, patient transfers, and table adjustments.

Can this table help patients who have difficulty getting onto a fixed-height table?

The adjustable height lets staff bring the tabletop closer to a suitable transfer level, then raise it for the examination. This can be useful when accommodating patients with limited mobility, but it does not replace transfer assistance or lifting equipment. Assess each patient’s needs and follow your facility’s transfer procedures before positioning them on the table.

Can we use this table in a room that also contains an MRI scanner?

No. The US-295 is labeled MR Unsafe and must not be brought into an MRI scanner room, even if the planned examination is an ultrasound procedure. We supply products for several imaging settings, and each product’s MR classification determines its suitability for an MRI environment. If your ultrasound work takes place near an MRI scanner, contact us to discuss appropriately classified equipment.

What should we confirm about power and delivery before ordering?

Confirm the table’s electrical requirements and the location of a suitable outlet before finalizing your room layout. You should also check doorway clearance, elevator access, and the delivery arrangements needed to bring the table into your facility. Contact us with your site requirements before ordering so these details can be reviewed for the selected configuration.
